NIZHNY NOVGOROD, Jun 2 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is considering a mechanism to enable victims of personal data leaks complain about the incident on state services portal Gosuslugi and claim a compensation, the communications service’s Deputy Director Milosh Vagner said on Friday.
“One of the mechanisms offered now and the Digital Development Ministry confirms the possibility of its implementation is to give the people whose data were exposed to state it via the portal of state services and claim a compensation directly from the operator, without court, without confirmation of the ownership of these personal data,” Vagner said.
“Authorization on the portal of state services should be enough. It won’t be needed to go to the operator directly and then to court.”
The victims should get adequate compensation, he added.
